1. What we collect
- Hashed IP address — we store a one-way SHA-256 hash of your IP address, salted, for abuse prevention and rate-limiting. We cannot reverse this hash to identify you.
- Pin location — stored at the precision of your map click (typically 1–10 metres depending on zoom level). No name, phone number, or identity is attached to your pin.
- Rent and property details — everything you enter in the "Pin Your Rent" form (property type, rent, furnishing, etc.).
- Contact email (optional) — only collected if you enable "Flatmate wanted". It is never displayed publicly and is only used to facilitate direct contact between prospective flatmates.
- No cookies, no tracking pixels, no ad networks.
2. How we use your data
- Displaying community-submitted rent pins on the public map.
- Detecting and preventing spam or abusive submissions (via hashed IP rate-limiting).
- Facilitating flatmate contact where you have explicitly provided an email for that purpose.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for commercial purposes.
3. Data retention
Pins remain on the map until they are removed by community report (auto-hidden at 3+ reports) or administrative review. There is currently no self-service pin deletion; contact us at the address below to request removal.
4. Singapore PDPA compliance
We comply with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA). Under the PDPA you have the right to:
- Access personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate personal data.
- Withdraw consent for the use of your personal data.

5. Third-party services
- OneMap (Singapore Land Authority) — map tiles and geocoding. Subject to SLA's own terms.
- Supabase — database hosting (data stored in Singapore region where available).
- hCaptcha — CAPTCHA verification to prevent automated submissions. Subject to hCaptcha's privacy policy.
- Vercel — hosting and edge functions.
